Pioneer in the Philippine stock transfer agency business
Our Company, Stock Transfer Service, Inc. (STSI) is the pioneer in the stock transfer agency business having been originally incorporated by A. Soriano Corporation (Anscor) in 1957 to handle Anscor's stockholder registry as a Philippine Stock Exchange listed entity.
In 1983, AB Capital and Investment Corporation (ABCIC), an investment house equally owned by Philippine Investment Management Corporation (PHINMA), A. Soriano Corporation, and Benguet Corporation, acquired STSI as a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition complemented ABCIC's operations by providing crucial support for ABCIC's underwriting activities and provided the means for the expansion of STSI's client base.
In 2009, PHINMA, by then the sole owner of ABCIC and its subsidiaries, decided to spin off its investment house operations which paved the way for a group of ABCIC officers to acquire the transfer agency business.
